During the week of the 6th to 10th of September, Sydney hosted the bi annual Sydney Contemporary Art Fair (SCAF).
It was an opportunity for the participating galleries to showcase their artists and whether it was a single artist or a selection, SCAF was quite a success with reported sales of around $16 million.
It was a good to see a real buzz around the art world both at Carriageworks where the main Fair was held and at the smaller satellite fair, Spring 1883, held at The Establishment Hotel which attracted a younger crowd of art buyers.
Both fairs attracted people who may not have previously been exposed to art and these venues are good non-threatening environments in which to see art.
