Lowensteins announce VCA prize winner

Congratulations to Alexandra Walker, who was the 2016 recipient of the Lowensteins prize awarded by the Arts Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). This was the first of the prizes awarded under our philanthropy program consistent with our aims of assisting new visual art graduates. We intend to roll these prizes out progressively to major art schools in Sydney and Melbourne. Plans will be announced later in the year after consultation with the major art schools.   Alexandra graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the Victorian College of the Arts after completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015. She intends to use this money to further her artistic practice by purchasing materials such as film and camera equipment, renting a studio space and potentially funding an exhibition in 2017.
