Currently showing at the NGV Australia at Federation Square is an exhibition by renowned Australian living legend, John Olsen. The exhibition covers The You Beaut Country series of landscapes and many of his works on paper spanning the years from 1955 up to our current times. The show includes commissioned ceiling paintings, ceramics and tapestries all revealing his original interpretation of the Australian landscape. His work is most notable for the pure optimism and lyricism inherent in the landscape that he is able to divine. It is Olsen’s first major retrospective since 1991. The exhibition is open in Melbourne until 12 February 2017, after which time our Sydney friends will have an opportunity to see the work at AGNSW from 10 March 2017. Our firm and particularly Tom Lowenstein have had an extremely long association with John spanning more than forty years. Theirs is a pivotal relationship that we are enormously proud of because it led to Tom’s initial appreciation of the visual arts which set him on the path to collecting art and serving the accounting needs of the visual arts community.
