As we love to champion the arts, I would like to let you know about one of our wonderful client’s successes. The children’s book author Libby Hathorn and her recent news in children’s literature.
Libby was delighted to receive the prestigious Lady Cutler Award 2021 for outstanding service to children’s literature.
On 29 April 2021 Libby was involved in the launch of the new library for the Shepherd Centre (a centre for hearing impaired children) at Macquarie University funded by the Fairley Family. This included the pre-launch of Libby and Beth Macdonald’s animation What Rosie Hears. This is an animation celebrating the young girl Rosie moving from the non-hearing world to the hearing world.
Libby has two new books coming out this year.
We Children and the Narrow Road of the Deep North set in Japan following the footsteps of master poet of the 1600s Matsuo Basho for which Libby received an Australia Council grant to travel through North Japan with the artist Sadami Konchi.
The other book was commissioned by the State Library of NSW to explore the amazing archives making it fun for children. Best Cat Est Cat will be launched in July 2021 at the library.
