On 16 December 2021, Tom Lowenstein launched his memoir, Lovers and Others.
It was a wonderful evening where we all had the opportunity to acknowledge the tireless work that Tom has given to arts and culture in Australia. His has been a lifetime dedication to the arts which was wonderfully recognised by all those who were in attendance.
Like many other people around Australia, after two disappointments when the event had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 lock downs, it was great that we could all congregate and meet at The Common Room, a delightful café in Caulfield.
Evan, Tom’s son and business partner, spoke about the book and highlighted the central role that Tom has played in the creative life of the nation.
The wonderful burlesque performer, Moira Finucane gave a lovely talk where she referred to Tom’s love of and dedication to the arts as being a central part of his life as a post war migrant and how he had made a remarkable contribution to the financial understanding of clients in the arts of all genres and of all sizes.
The event had to be significantly pared back due to COVID-19 restrictions on numbers.
